Committees
- Residence Dining Committee
The committee will give meal plan holders an opportunity to have a voice in Food Services. It will open communications between resident life students and Food Services. Regular meetings will give students an opportunity to comment and contribute to continuous improvements in food services, keep in touch with what is upcoming and share ideas in order to increase satisfaction and be innovative with Food Services in the future.
- Food Services Advisory Committee
The Food Services Advisory Committee was created to give the University community the possibility to express themselves on the food and beverage needs and the best way to meet them. Members of the upper management, student federations, teaching and support staff are represented in this committee.
- Food Services Work Group
In the spring 2009, the Food Services Advisory Committee was provided a mandate from the President, Allan Rock to develop a strategy to improve food services on campus in order to contribute to improving the student experience. A working group composed of students and staff was created. Their main focus was to consult with students and faculty, compare offerings at other universities, evaluate market trends and provide recommendations on how to improve food services on the University of Ottawa campus.
Providing food services on a University campus is a continuous challenge. We have a diverse group of students and staff who are changing regularly. We are in a downtown campus with different food offerings being provided all around the campus. The needs of each and everyone are different and we must find a way to provide excellent services to all of them.
The working group provided 24 recommendations related to improving food services on campus that will contribute to improving the student experience on the University of Ottawa campus. These recommendations were brought forward at the Food Services Advisory Committee and received approval from all members present.
